Numbers lifted by 163 head to 501 at the Toowoomba cattle sale on Monday. The usual panel of buyers was present, however not all exporters were operating.

The market was reported to be very solid for good quality classes, however secondary lines experienced limited support.
Light weight yearling steers to restockers were in demand. Yearling steers and heifers suited to local trade market received strong support from local butchers, and this trend flowed onto the yearling steers and heifers to feed.
Half of the cows penned returned to the paddock, with only a handful of heavy cows to processors available.
Steer calves returning to the paddock made to 418.2c to average 411c/kg. A few vealer heifers made to 361c/kg.
Light weight yearling steers sold to restockers at an average of 366c, and made to 412c/kg. Yearling steers in the 280-330kg range made to 411.2c to average 379c/kg.
Medium weight yearling steers to feed made to 383c to average 370c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 350c to average 318c, with a small sample to the trade reaching 379.2c/kg.
Light weight yearling heifers made to 331c to average 297c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to the trade made to 357c to average 349c, and a couple of heavy weights made to 369.2c/kg.
Light weight cows returning to the paddock averaged 234c, and medium weights made to 250c to average 243c/kg.
Medium weights to processors averaged 220c and made to 246c, and a small selection of heavy weights made to 258.2c/kg. Heavy bulls made to 295c/kg.
