There were 602 head yarded at Stariha Auctions Laidley cattle sale on Thursday. The market for weaners and younger cattle was very strong, while cows and feeder rates held up well.

Larry Williams, Kilcoy, sold a line of Murray Grey cows for $1370, heifers for $950 and steers for $1270-$1360. Bruce DiAmbrosis, Pine Mountain, sold a Droughtmaster bull for $1950, cows for $1310 and heifers for $1140.

Col Higgins, Ma Ma Creek, sold Charolais cross heifers, eight months for $840. Bruce Greer, Flagstone Creek, sold Brangus heifers, 10-12 months, for $915. Nev Stallan, Mt Tarampa, sold Brahman vealer heifers for $840.
Copleys Gully, Hazeldean, sold lines of Charbray cross steers for $1050 and $1020. Gary Stark, Forset Hill, sold Murray Grey weaner steers for $980 and four-month-old heifer calves for $510-$585. Bernie and Ruth Jackwitz, Grandchester, sold 10-month-old Charolais steers for $950.
Retschlag Dairies, Kilcoy, sold Angus cross vealer calves, with males making $820 and heifers $730. Joel Hill, Fernvale, sold a line of Santa heifers for $840. Russell Thomson, Caboolture, sold Charolais cross cows with young calves for $1375.
