Numbers increased by 1209 head to 2483 at Dalby on Wednesday, following the very small pre-Easter sale.

A fair panel of buyers was present and operating in a market that was reported to be generally dearer for a number of classes.
Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock averaged 17c/kg better. Renewed interest from feeder operators lifted medium weight yearling steers to feed by 17c/kg.
A combination of a better quality line-up, and the stronger support from feedlot operators, heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 30c/kg dearer.
The relatively small selection of local trade lines of yearling steers and heifers also experienced a strong market. Cows sold to a dearer trend with some additional support from restockers, as well as increased competition from processors.
Mixed sex calves returned to the paddock at an average of 385c, with some steer calves reaching 474.2c/kg. Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock made to 460.2c to average 397c/kg.
Medium weight yearling steers to feed made to 401c, with a good sample averaging 375c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 350c, to average 346c, while a couple to the trade made to 404c/kg.
Light weight yearling heifers to restockers or background made to 390c to average 354c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed made to 389c to average 345c/kg.
Medium weight yearling heifers to the local trade market made to 416.2c/kg. Grown heifers sold to processors at an average of 284c, with sales to 311c/kg.
Medium weight cows returning to the paddock made to 250c to average 245c/kg. Medium weights to processors made to 270c, to average 257c/kg.
Heavy cows made to a top of 283.2c, with a good sample averaging 262c/kg. Heavy bulls made to 327c/kg.
