The trend of much smaller numbers across most selling centres in resent days continued at Dalby on Wednesday, with the supply of stock reducing by 1050, to 1274 head.

The usual panel of buyers was present, however not all were operating, and there was fair line-up feeder operators, restockers and local trade buyers.
The overall quality of the young cattle was reported generally good, and most classes sold would be a trend pushed on by strong support from restockers, feeder operators, and local trade buyers.
Most classes of cows experienced strong competition from processors and restockers for the quality penned.
Well bred calves returning to the paddock made to 470.2c to average 449c/kg. Light weight yearling steers sold to restockers at an average of 381c, with a few sales to 440.2c/kg. Yearling steers 280-330kg sold to 408c to average 389c/kg.
Light weight yearling heifers sold to restockers or background at an average of 359c with sales to 387.2c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed made 370c to average 350c/kg.
Heavy weight yearling heifers to the local market made to 368.2c/kg to average 335c/kg. Medium weight cows made 271.2C, to average 250c, and heavy cows also made to 271.2c to average 264c/kg. Heavy bulls made to 327c/kg.
