There was a small reduction in supply to 248 head at the Toowoomba cattle sale on Monday. The usual panel of buyers was present, however not all were operating.

Light weight young cattle met fair demand from restockers for the quality penned. Medium and heavy weight yearling steers and heifers to the local trade market and feed experienced a similar trend.
However a lift in the standard of the cows penned resulted in some improvements in prices.
Light weight yearling steers sold to restockers at a top of 450c to average 411c/kg. A handful of yearling steers in the 280-330kg range also sold to restockers at 400c/kg.
Medium weight yearling steers to feed made to 378c and a few to the trade made to 373c, to average 359c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to the trade made to 391c, to average 368c/kg.
Light weight yearling heifers made to 360c, to average 345c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to the trade made to 391c, to average 363c/kg.
Medium weight cows averaged 245c, and made to 254c, and good heavy cows sold to the occasional 264c/kg. Heavy bulls made to 285c/kg.
