Agents Bartholomew and Co reported a quality yarding of backgrounders and feeders at their regular Beaudesert cattle sale on Saturday. The market was firm to slightly dearer for most descriptions with some plainer lines just off-pace. Quality lines of vendor-bred steers and heifers created a lot of interest, selling to a strong market.
Rob Hayes and Kathy Hopkins, Woodhill, sold Brangus steers two years for $1500. Droughtmaster cross steers 20 months account Ashley and Sascha Stevens, Moogerah, sold for $1430.
The O'Neill family, Mt Oweenee, sold a line of 83 No. 8 steers topping at $1380 to average $1185. Hansen Industries, Lamington, sold Droughtmaster steers 14 months for $1130.
Santa cross steers account Rachel Clements, Bromelton, sold for $990. Paul and Gayle Swan of Brydali Brangus, Veresdale, sold Brangus steers 12 months for $950. Wright Robertson Pty Ltd, Numinbah, sold Red Angus steers 12 months for $930.
