A small yarding of 646 head at Warwick this week saw a reduced buyer panel in attendance.
The market was extremely mixed with some categories cheaper, while others were firm to dearer.
This reflected both the reduced buyer panel and the mixed quality and finish of the cattle offered.
Yearling steers were mixed with restocker buyers active in all weight classes.
The light weights attracted less interest this week to lose 26c/kg. The medium weights were mixed in quality with feeders paying 11c to 36c less, while restockers classes were up up to 18c dearer to average 395c/kg.
The 330-400kg category to restockers eased 42c/kg on average, which mostly reflected the quality offered.
Yearling heifers were significantly cheaper in the light weight classes, which reflected the quality and finish penned, and prices eased by 26c to 33c/kg.
There were some excellent pens offered in the 280-330kg range, with prices reaching 380c to average 361c, to improve by 29c/kg.
Heavy weight yearling heifers to the trade were also dearer with sales 390.2c/kg.
Grown steers were extremely mixed for both finish and quality, making to 380c to lose 5c/kg on average.
Cows were mixed in quality which was reflected in the price.
The medium weights were in the largest numbers, and also performed well, to average 10c better at 247c/kg.
Heavy cows made to a very isolated 305c/kg.
