Backgrounders and weaners sell to strong rates at Beaudesert.

Agents Bartholomew & Co reported a yarding of 687 head of cattle at their Beaudesert store sale on Saturday. The market eased slightly for heavier feeder steers, with quality backgrounders and weaners selling to very strong rates.

With a large quantity of quality feeder heifers coming to hand, they sold to a keen panel of both restocker and feedlot buyers.

Mick Ruthenberg, Obum Obum, sold Charbray steers 20 months for $1720. Ian Sellars, Rosevale, sold Santa steers 20 months for $1720. Droughtmaster cross steers 18 months account David and Patricia Parr, Moorang, sold for $1665.

Carneys Creek Pastoral sold Charbray steers 18 months for $1565. Sunkissed Quarterhorse Stud, Warrill View, sold Charbray steers 15 months for $1210. Angus steers 15 months account D and L Strong Discretionary Trust, Fernvale, sold for $1100.

Mark and Vickee Binstead, Palen Creek, sold Santa steers 12 months for $1095. Droughtmaster cross weaner steers account Lindsay Investments, Logan Reserve, sold for $1035. Santa cross steers 12 months account Ty Paxman, Cedar Creek sold for $995.

All Beef Enterprises sold Charbray heifers 18 months for $1200 and 12-month-old heifers for $885. Keira Farm, Mutdapilly, sold a pen of two-year-old Droughtmaster cross heifers for $1190. Pix Family Trust, Canungra, sold Charolais cross heifers two years for $1185 and weaner heifers for $805.

Resource Planning Services, Kalbar, sold 2-tooth Droughtmaster feeder heifers for $1175 and 4 and 6-tooth heifers for $1145. Brad and Sarah Ness, Tamborine, sold 4-tooth Brangus heifers for $1110. Ian Sellars, Rosevale, sold a cracking pen of Santa heifers 15 months for $1030.

Eurara Pty Ltd, Telemon Crossing sold lines of Angus, Droughtmaster and Charbray heifers topping at $1000 to average $903. Kathleen Panitz, Rathdowney sold Droughtmaster cross heifers 12 months for $920 and Droughtmaster weaner heifers for $700.

Angus cross heifers account D and L Strong Discretionary Trust sold for $920. Tammy Strong, Wivenhoe Pocket, sold Santa heifers 12 months for $910. Kimi McKitrick, Mt Forbes, sold Droughtmaster heifers 12 months for $855.

Brenton and Trish Oppermann, Maroon, topped the cow and calf category with a pen of Brahman cows and calves making $1460. Keira Farm sold Euro cross and cows and calves for $1380.
