Numbers have reached capacity for the ever popular Philmac Ladies Lunch which over the years has become an integral part of the NTCA Conference schedule.
Close to 110 ladies from the Northern Territory cattle industry and beyond are expected to attend the event which will be held on Thursday, March 26 at the Alice Springs Golf Club.
NTCA Barkly branch deputy chair Katherine Warby is coordinating this year's event and said it provides a chance for women of the land to take a time out from their hectic schedules to enjoy quality time with their friends.
"With many guests set to attend the NTCA Annual General Meeting later in the day and with the conference going into overdrive on the Friday, the Ladies Lunch is very much a calm before the storm," she said.
Mrs Warby said tickets sold very quickly, highlighting how popular the Ladies Lunch has become.
"The lunch will begin at 11am and it will be a sit down alternate drop style affair featuring delicious beef or fish based meals, which these hard working ladies will be able to enjoy while catching up and sharing stories of their various highlights and challenges on the land.
"Guests will also have the distinct pleasure of hearing from guest speaker Shanna Whan who will discuss her not-for-profit grassroots charity Sober in the Country through which she has positively impacted the drinking culture across rural Australia by raising awareness around the cost of alcohol abuse."
Mrs Warby said one lucky guest will also be taking home a beautiful cow skin hide which has been donated by AACo especially for the event as a lucky door prize.
"We hope all those that attend have a lovely and relaxing time with their friends while enjoying some top tucker and drinks.
"I'd also like to thank our major sponsor Philmac as well as all the other businesses that continue to support this wonderful event."
