A BIG blue blob has emerged on weather forecasts, indicating a cumulative 100mm of rain for parts of far south west Queensland.

The Bureau of Meteorology's eight day forecast continues to show every part of Queensland receiving rain up until March 11, with 100mm totals shown for parts of the Channel Country, the Peninsula, and the central coast.
The bulk of the rest of the state is shown to be inline for 50mm over the period, with parts of the west, the north west and much of the south east corner only receiving 25mm.

According to BoM, moisture and instability will continue to increase over western and south western Queensland today and Thursday.
That's due to the combination of a developing upper level trough through central Australia and ex-tropical cyclone Esther moving from the central Northern Territory, through south western Queensland and eventually into NSW on Thursday.
BoM indicated the best rain for the far south west to be on Wednesday and Thursday, followed by clear skies.

Rain is also promised for virtually all of NSW and the eastern half of Victoria.
The Darling Downs is not expected to receive to rain before Friday when 10mm is shown. However, BoM modeling indicates 25mm for the eight day period.
BoM also says monsoon trough may become active over the far north of the state from Sunday, leading to an increase in shower and thunderstorm activity, particularly during the middle of next week.
