Numbers at Warwick on Tuesday were down slightly on last week.
All the local and export buyers were present and active for an extremely strong market in all categories.
A number of buyers were active on the yearling steers resulting in a significantly dearer market, particularly for the lighter classes.
Restockers and feeders paid an average of 303c, for the light weights to be significantly dearer, while processors paid an average of 306.3c/kg for the heavy weight classes to also be dearer.
Yearling heifers saw a similar result on the light weight classes to average 273.2c up significantly, while the heavy weights averaged 294c/kg, to also be significantly dearer.
A small offering of grown steers sold mostly firm to average 292c, with sales to 313c/kg. A single full mouth bullock made to 302c/kg.
Grown heifers were extremely strong on the day to an average of 288c, with sales to 304c/kg.
Cows were dearer across all categories with the biggest gains coming in the light weight classes on the back of better more widespread rains. Light weights to restockers averaged 181c, and medium weights averaged 205c, also to restockers to be significantly dearer. The heavy weight cows to export processors averaged 244c/kg to be also dearer.
A larger than usual yarding of bulls sold extremely well to a top of 317c/kg.
