Useful falls of rain across most of the supply area reduced the supply of stock down to 217 head at Toowoomba on Monday.
Overall quality was very mixed, however a few pens of supplementary fed yearling steers and heifers were included in the line-up.
Buyer attendance was generally good and most were operating. Prices responded to the rain, and the shorter supply.
Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock averaged 4c/kg better. A small sample of light weight yearling heifers to restockers improved by up to 30c/kg. The small selection of cows also gained 20c to 34c/kg.
Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock averaged 257c, and made to 276c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market made to 304c and medium weights averaged 278c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to the trade averaged 303c and made to 307.2c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock averaged 224c and made to 235c/kg.
Medium weight yearling heifers to the trade averaged 291c, and a few heavy weights averaged 290c and made to 300c/kg. Light weight poor condition cows averaged 130c, and medium weights to processors averaged 151c/kg. A handful of medium weight 2 scores made to 209c to average 208c/kg. A short supply of good heavy cows made to 249.2c/kg.
