There were 808 head yarded at Stariha Auctions Laidley cattle sale on Thursday. The market saw a marked increase for bulls, cows, feeders, vealers and weaners. Younger drought affected cattle remained unchanged.

Craig Edwards, Hattonvale, sold a Charolais bull for $2040 and Charolais store cows for $1025. Jemma Walker, Fordsdale, sold Santa cows for $1440. Kerian McNamara, Ma Ma Creek, sold Wagyu bulls for $1600, cows for $1040 and heifers for $800.
Collins Grazing, Anduramba, sold Charbray cows for $1260. Tony Collins, Anduramba, sold Charbray cows to $1310. Wanpela Samting, Mt Whitestone, sold Angus bulls for $1950, $1820 and $1700 and Brahman cows for $1500. The Lehmann family, Coolana, sold a line of Droughtmaster cows for $880.
John Curtin, Mt Whitestone, sold milk tooth Charbray heifers for $1050-$1070. Wayne Hanson, Thornton, sold milk tooth Charolais heifers for $1200. Des Poole, Veradilla, sold 15-month-old Limousin cross steers for $1140 and 12-month-old Angus cross weaners, with steers making $860 and heifers $900.
Cheryl Fell, Adare, sold an Angus bull for $1900. Sharon Ross, Plainland, sold a Greyman steer for $1620. L and L Williams, Kilcoy, sold lines of Murray Grey steers for $1200- $1300. Des Gehrke, Summerholme, sold a line of Charbray steers for $1240. Susan and Glenn Hermann, Tarampa, sold milk tooth Brahman steers for $1140 and Droughtmaster steers for $925. Bruce Schulz, Ropeley, sold lines of Charbray heifers for $685 and $720. Andrew Zwynenberg, Tarampa, sold Droughtmaster steers for $960.
Bremer Pastoral, Mt Walker, sold a line of Charbray yearling steers for $900. Pat Collingwood, Murphys Creek, sold seven-month-old Blonde cross calves, with steers making $830 and heifers $695. Ron Gehrke, Summerholme, sold a line of Charbray steers for $700. Gary Stark, Forest Hill, sold Greyman vealer calves, with males making $610-$700 and heifers $635. Morris family, West Haldon, sold Droughtmaster heifers for $660. Hoger Brothers, Ropeley, sold Charolais vealer heifers for $620.
