There were 1800 cattle yarded at Toogoolawah on Friday.
Vendors yarded quality feeder steers to meet a competitive market from mainly feedlot operators. It was the same story with heifers - feeders sold well, and young heifers were easier.
Brendan Augustine, Mundubbera, sold milk tooth Brangus steers at $1250. John and Sharon Cruickshank, Eidsvold, sold Santa cross milk tooth steers at $1230 and 14 months Santa steers at $920. Charolais and Angus cross steers milk and 2 tooth from Eidsvold sold at $1300, $1170 and $1140.
Geoff and Jan Titmarsh sold Euro cross steers two years at $1200. Paroz Bros. sold Charolais cross milk tooth steers at $1190 and $1100. Anthony Dennehy sold Droughtmaster steers 20 months to two years at $1110.
Lloyd and Elaine Golinski had 15 months Charolais cross steers (good quality) at $1000. Gem Seekers, Dayboro, sold Droughtmaster steers 16 months at $930.
Paradise Grazing Co. sold Charolais cross steers eight months at $660 and $560 and pure Brahman steer calves at $580. Ivan Wild and family sold Droughtmaster cross steers two years for $1090 and Charbray cross steers 18 months at $970 from their Manumbar property.
Ken Lodge sold Charolais cross steers 14 months at $660. Birchley Family Trust sold Charolais cross steer calves at $550 and $480. Garth and Toni Reiser had Charolais cross steers 12 months at $640.
Brendan Augustine sold Brangus steer calves at $600 and Droughtmaster cross at $560. Light and lesser steers sold to a tougher market with plain quality a good deal cheaper.
John and Sharon Cruickshank's Santa cross heifers 20-24 months sold at $1080. Ivan Wild's Charbray cross heifers 20 months sold at $1030 for very good quality. Jacques and Linda Moisson sold 18 months Angus cross heifers at $810.
Paradise Grazing Co sold Charolais cross heifer calves at $460 and $420. Andrew and Hayley Ahern, Gayndah, sold Charbray heifers at $1070 and $1000.
Eskdale Station sold Santa heifers 20-24 months at $950. John England, Dayboro, sold Simmental cross heifers 10 months at $500 and $420.
Birchley Family Trust had Charbray heifer calves at $400 and $340. Light young Droughtmaster cows and calves sold at $700. Charbray cows sold to $920. Plain and light cows sold in the $200 to $400 range.
