Cattle numbers from Queensland held firm last week to see 2816 head offered, as across the platform NSW dominated the buying with the north west slopes and plains purchasing the most stock followed by the Riverina.
Nationally light steers under 200kg sold from 211c/kg to 336c and averaged 287c as steers 200 - 280kg sold from 250c to 383c and averaged 297c. Steers over 280kg from Queensland sold from 264c to 315c to average 297c.
Angus steers 320kg from Goondiwindi sold to a local buyer for 315c, while 344kg Angus steers from Chinchilla sold for 300c.
Across the platform heifers under 200kg sold from 225c to 303c and averaged 257c, and heifers 200 - 280kg sold from 149c to 271c and averaged 223c. Heavier heifers 330 - 400kg sold from 150c to 297c and averaged 262c.
The top price went to a line of 75 NSM future breeders from Condamine. These Angus heifers are 337kg, eight to 11 months and will travel to Warwick.
Nationally cows and calves sold from $850 to $2090 and averaged $1287, while PTIC females sold from $840 to $1850 and averaged $1459.
Other Queensland highlights included two to three-year-old unjoined Droughtmaster cows from Rolleston sell for $1100, and two to three-year-old unjoined Brangus cows also from Rolleston sell for $990.

Sheep and lamb number numbers from Queensland fell by 1500 head to see 5795 head offered last week. Across AuctionsPlus young Merino breeders (two to four years) sold from $70 and $271 to average $179, down $12.
From Talwood, two-year-old Merino ewes sold to a NSW buyer for $128. Proven breeder (four+ years) Merino ewes sold from $90 to $227, and averaged $160, up $6. Unjoined Merino ewes 4.5 years old from Thallon also sold to NSW buyer for $171.
Last week's offering of store lambs saw 50,731 head offered, 9249 more than the previous week and clearance was 76 per cent of the offerings. The larger offering followed the recent easing of the lamb market prices and the average price closed the week at 377c live.
Selling from 296c to tops of 540c, highlight lines from Queensland included July/Sept '19 drop 35kg Dorper wether lambs from Augathella sell for $122.
