There's no doubt the weather man has fallen out of favour recently, but it would be remiss of the Queensland Country Life not to keep our valued readers up to date.
Given Huey's poor performance of late however, we're not going to jinx anything by saying that four letter word beginning with R.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Kimba Wong said it was possible that some wet stuff would fall from the sky.
"We're looking at an area today (Thursday) for showers and possibly some storms around in an area that's pretty much if you draw a line from Charleville to Surat and north and east of there," she said.
"In the next couple of days, that area slowly shifts to the east but still a chance of seeing some showers and storms around Charleville, Roma, Surat, Injune, Miles, Chinchilla through tomorrow and shifting a little bit further east for Saturday."
If you're a cocky in the south-west of the state, you may have noticed your face turning to the sky a bit more often over the past few days, drawn by grey clouds and a breeze boasting moisture in the air somewhere.
Seems Huey has been a bit of a tease in recent days, with Ms Wong saying droplets of water had been falling from the clouds, but had been evaporating before they could do their bloody job.
"Unfortunately, because there is very dry air underneath the cloud, it's falling as virga, so you can probably see it sometimes," she said.
"You can see what looks like (the word that shall not be spoken) falling from the bottom of the cloud but it sort of tapers off and doesn't make it to the ground."
Ms Wong said an upper trough passing through southern Queensland over the next few days had been the cause of the mid- to high-level clouds we are seeing down this way.
Let's just hope Huey remembers first comes clouds, then comes.....
Anyway, the forecast is definitely not something to get out and dance about, even if it is a dance of encouragement, but now would probably be a good time to hang the washing out, wash the car and put some sprinklers on the front lawn.
Maybe then the cantankerous Huey might be a bit more inclined to do his job properly.
