Cattle numbers from Queensland rose by over 500 head to see 2548 cattle offered on AuctionsPlus. Light restocker heifers from Queensland under 280kg sold from 251c to 269c, averaging 257c, up 20c on the previous week.
The top priced line was a mob of 260kg 12 to 16-month-old Angus heifers from Condamine, while 8 to 10-month-old 278kg Angus heifers from Millmerran sold for 258c.
Heifers over 280kg sold from 219c to 265c to average 243c. 317kg Angus heifers from Millmerran returned the top price, while 282kg Poll Hereford heifers from Toobeah sold for 253c.
Steers over 280kg offered from Queensland dropped by 32c to average 279c, selling from 270c to 293c. A line of 285kg Santa steers from Blackall topped the category, while a line of 326kg Ultrablack/Angus cross feeder steers from Goondiwindi sold for 276c.
PTIC cows nationally sold from $800 to $1750, averaging $1104, up $25. This week saw most numbers flow from western and southern Queensland and from the central west of NSW. Romagnola cross cows three to eight years old from Cunnamulla sold to $1500
Sheep
Sheep number numbers from Queensland dropped by 3500 head online last week to see 3294 sheep and lambs offered. Young Merino breeders, two to four years old nationally sold from $140 to $243, averaging $200. Three to four-year-old Wilgunya blood unjoined ewes from Talwood sold to $145 and will stay in Queensland.
Merino wether lambs nationally sold from $86 to $151, averaging $121, while Merino wether hoggets and grown wethers nationally sold from $93 to $165, to average $125. The top price lot was a line of two-year-old, 22kg dress weight, Egelabra and Mullengudgery blood wethers from Weilmoringle, NSW selling to a processor for 753c/kg dw.
Queensland buyers saw value in the wool market with a line of Aug/Sept '18 drop Merino wether lambs from Collarenebri, NSW selling to a buyer from Stonehenge.
