Succession planning was the hot topic of the night when ANZ launched their latest agribusiness report at Jimbour House on the Darling Downs on Wednesday night.
The evening dinner on the lawns was a chance for a bit of socialisation as well as the launch of agri research report: Succession Matters.
ANZ's head of Agribusiness Mark Bennett said the topic was an incredibly important one for farming families.
"Just being open and in communication about the topic is critical," he said.
"I think it is getting better just as farming is getting better in terms of reporting and management.
"Too often people wait until trigger events like a family death, family illness, drought or other situation to have the conversation.
"That's never when you really have the time and space to make careful decisions."
