Workplace Health and Safety is investigating a horror death at a Charleville abattoir and will prepare a report for the Coroner.
Paramedics were called to Western Meat Exporters at 1.08pm on Monday afternoon after a worker received critical injuries in a machinery incident.
The 46-year-old was pronounced dead at 3.10pm.
Western Meat Exporters is a specialist facility designed to produce Halal goat and sheep meat for all export markets including the United States, European Union, Asia and Middle East.
Managing director Campbell McPhee said Monday was a very sad and tragic day in the history of their company.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Jimmy's partner Kate and daughter Jenny and his family in Vietnam," he said.
"Our priority now is to ensure our employees mental health and well being is being supported through this difficult time.
"We are co-operating fully with relevant authorities and will be making no further comment until the investigation is completed."
