A hometown hero was made when Heroism, from the Forster stable, won the Willowie Cup at Ilfracombe on Saturday, before a good crowd enjoying the winter sun.
It was Heroism's third win in a row, ridden by Luke Dillon, and the Forster family scored a double in the feature event on the card when Bush Caviar came in third, split by Hunter Island, trained by Patrick O'Toole of Barcaldine.
Race patrons were treated to the Undies Run spectacle at the end of the afternoon, won by Memphis Waerea in the men's section, with Rhys Jones second and Lachlan Haslem third.
For the women it was Zoe Bridgeman who streaked away, closely pipping Heidi Hatch and Megan Hotz for the cash.
Earlier in the day organisers handed out Fashions on the Field prize ribbons to Toby Austin and Tom Seeney in the junior boys section, to Chloe Seeney and Abby Dolgner in the junior girls, and to Mick Carn and Hamish Hart in the men's section.
In the contemporary women's section, it was Annabel Hatch and Christine Kennedy who were the winners while in the classic fashion, Jade Morton and Sonya Hesp collected the prizes.
