Michael Pearson, of Janke Australia, had enjoyed a long association with the agricultural business before he bought the company two years ago.
In fact, he was the manufacturer of the Janke Air Seeder range for the previous owners.
Mr Pearson is an experienced sheet metal worker who also has an Advanced Diploma of Mechanical Engineering.
Growing up on the family farm in Roma, and undertaking share-farming throughout his early career has allowed Mr Pearson to gain a wealth of knowledge about best-practice farm machinery and agricultural product design.
He said that since buying Janke, the team have generated another four patents relating to the unique Janke Parallelogram farming systems.
"The pinnacle of these patents is the ability to have a dual purpose parallelogram," Mr Pearson said.
"These parallelogram units have the capacity for dual usage in both tillage and planting operations, with a simple pin adjustment."
He said by using the same pin, the unit can be re-configured to farm in skip row applications.
Mr Pearson's ongoing commitment to research and development of the trusted Janke brand has led to the creation of an innovative product line, which received a high level of inquiry during the recent Ag-Grow Field Days near Emerald.
He said that the new modifications the team has made to the Janke range are an exciting development in Australian agriculture.
The product line includes air seeders, chisel ploughs, planting equipment and mulchers.
The Janke range is a subsidiary of Mr Pearson's parent company - Downs Sheet Metal, which is based in Dalby.
DSM is well regarded for its range of toolboxes, sheet metal parts, and Department of Defence work, including fit outs for Chinook helicopters, and Bushmaster armoured personnel carriers.
"The Australian Defence Force have ordered more than 3000 toolboxes from us, and they all have been manufactured in Dalby," Mr Pearson said.
