A quality yarding of feeder steers and weaners came forward and met solid demand from western buyers and lotfeeders in a yarding of 950 head at Toogoolawah on Friday.

Len and Pat Haynes, Linville, sold Charolais cross milk tooth steers for $1370. Peter and Christine Hardgrave sold Charolais cross steers 2.5 years old for $1350. Brad Grey had Charolais steers 2 years for $1160. John Pratt Kilcoy sold Droughtmaster steers 20 months for $1190. Des Campbell Moore had Charolais cross steers 16 - 18mths for $1070. Jim Lietch sold Droughtmaster steers 16 months for $980. Greg and Linda Nugent had Droughtmaster steers for steers 14 months for $860.

Weaner steers met a strong panel of buyers. Graham McPherson sold Charbray weaner steer calves for $920 and $770. Pratten and Ricardo had Charolais cross steers calves for $820. Judy Mewing, Glenhowden, sold Charolais cross weaner steers for $700 and Droughtmaster steers for $670. Mark Wareham had Angus cross steers 18 months for $950 and weaners for $570. W Bickers sold Angus weaner steers for $600.

Bernie Witham, Esk, sold aged Santa cows and calves for $1060. Tony Woodrow sold aged Brahman cows and calves for $1100. Pecan Past sold Brahman cows PTIC for $950. Mary Rasmussen sold pregnant Charolais cows for $875.

The heifers market felt the effects of winter approaching. PTIC santa heifers sold for $890. PTIC Brahman heifers sold for $900. Wundaburra sold Braford heifers 16 months for $920 and $800. Bruce and Judith Lord sold Brangus heifers 20 months for $890. Smith and Hurley sold 15 month Euro cross heifers for $820. Graham McPherson sold Charolais cross heifer calves for $780 with others making $640 and $550. Darryl Morris had Charolais cross heifers for $580. L & M North sold Simmental cross weaner heifers for $400. Smaller and light heifers sold from $400 to $320. Toogolawah's second weaner sale for 2019 is on June 21.
