Steers top at 248c, av 217 at Mareeba
Mareeba Combined Agents penned 289 head at this week's prime and store cattle sale.
Numbers decreased by 10 head on the previous week. Values reduced by 15c/kg on average mainly due to larger numbers of females and bulls. A few pens of better quality bullocks sold to similar rates from last week. Slaughter cows are proving hard to find real demand for.
The yarding consisted of 54 steers average 217c/kg selling to a top of 248c, 75 bulls average 177c selling to a top of 244c, 118 cows average 116c selling to a top of 180c, 39 heifers average 153c selling to a top of 176c. The usual buyers were present.
