Head of boarding at St Margaret's Anglican Girls School in Brisbane, Lesa Fowler, is heading to Ag-Grow this year and is keen to connect with families exploring education and boarding options for their daughters.
Ms Fowler is a regular visitor to Queensland's Central West, travelling out to the region most years, connecting with past students, current families and those wanting to know more about the school.
"I feel it's so important for me to get out to the homes of our current families, so I have a greater understanding of where they come from and what home means to them; an understanding I can bring back to the boarding house," Ms Fowler said.
"Pastoral care is our top priority in the boarding house.
"We have wonderful specialist boarding staff, including housemothers, a pastoral care coordinator and two new positions this year - a head of junior house and head of senior house.
"So there are many adults with whom the girls can form a connection."
The two new head of house positions replaced the deputy head of boarding role at the beginning of 2019.
Head of junior house, Fiona Spooner is a past student, daughter of an Old Girl, parent and former boarding house supervisor.
Head of senior house, Gracemere Mataia, has studied child and family psychology.
