There were 311 head sold at Stariha Auctions Woodford cattle sale on Monday. The market was firm for cows and quality cattle. Plainer cattle were easier with large numbers being sold across Queensland with the continuing dry weather.
Jeff Webster, Kilcoy, sold Angus cows and calves for $1400-$1600. Robert Vogler, Kilcoy, sold Brangus cows for $1440. Alberton Investments, Bald Hills, sold lines of Droughtmaster steers, 20 months, for $1215. Nathan Colley, Witta, sold lines of feeder steers for $1130-$1135. Robin McLaughlin, Maleny, sold lines of Droughtmaster weaner steers for $785 and $920.
Nevil Green, Villeneuve, sold 8 month old weaner steers for $820. Trevor Hertrick, Mt Mee, sold Droughtmaster steers for $880. Garry Martin, Maleny, sold Angus weaner steers for $840. Bev Jensen, Royston, sold Droughtmaster calves, with steers making $605 and heifers $550. Dan Hall, Jimna, sold Droughtmaster steers for $720.
