A total yarding of 639 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s Prime Sale on Thursday.

Steers over 550kg sold to 299c and averaged 281c, while steers 400- 550kg sold to 258c, averaging 246c. Yorkaringa Farming Trust, Yorkaringa, Wallumbilla donated a Hereford cross steer to Heart Health Day which sold to 299c, reaching a top of $1974 to average $1974. TI & JL York, Hyde Park, Wallumbilla sold Simmental cross steers to 289c, reaching a top of $2049 to average $1953. Bruce Smith sold Santa steers to 289c, reaching a top of $1845 to average $1772.

Heifers over 450kg made to 250c and averaged 237c, heifers 350-450kg sold to 233c, averaging 194c. Cows over 500kg peaked at 254c and averaged 212c, while cows in the 400- 500kg class topped at 227c and averaged 192c.

Cargara Cattle Co, Cargara, Augathella sold Braford cows to 254c, reaching a top of $1642 to average $1436. TN & DS Pukallus sold Brahman cross cows to 227c, reaching a top of $1426 to average $1251. Bulls over 600kg earned to 264c and averaged 241c.
