Blue Dogs Simmentals achieved 100 per cent clearance when 38 bulls sold to a top of $11,000 and averaged $7118 at their first on-property sale held Pinora Sales Complex, Jackson on Saturday.
Sale vendors, Jan and Doug Bradshaw, also cataloged six heifers which sold for a solid top at $5000, to average of $4333.
It was the first bull into the sale ring who secured the top price of $11,000 for Blue Dog Mansfield (P) 1076kg, a son of Woonalee Justified J112, who has an eye muscle area of 140sq cm.
John and Tara Dumma, Summa Simmental Stud, Middlemount, were the successful buyers of Blue Dog Mansfield.
Mr Dumma said he like this bull’s genetic make-up and as a repeat buyer of Blue Dog bloodlines in the past, he is really impressed with the results they have achieved in both their stud and commercial females.
The second top price bull was Blue Dog Morgan M082 (P) another son of Woonallee Justified weighing in at 974kg with a 141sq cm EMA, selling for $10,000 the Finch family, Trafford Park, Wallumbilla.
Tracey Crouch and Kevin Perkins, Cannon Dee, Chinchilla, bought the equal top price heifer at $5000 Blue Dog Benita 321 which was sired by Lucrana Garner. The secured a second heifer, Blue Dog Gentle Nell (P) for $4000.
Equal top price at $5000 was Blue Dog Flure 315, as daughter of Lucrana Garner was purchased by JB Grazing, Dalby.
Lucrana Garner daughters continued to excel as he was sire of the Bradshaw’s grand champion cow Blue Dog Kogan at Sydney and Grand champion female and top five finish at Beef Australia earlier this year.
