There were 277 head yarded at Stariha Auctions Woodford cattle sale on Monday.
Feeder cattle and cows held firm, while weaner steers were stronger. Quality plainer cattle also sold well. Lesser quality cattle were easier.
Nevil Green, Villeneuve, sold a Droughtmaster bull for $1720 and a line of quality Droughtmaster weaner heifers for $695. Joaquin and Vi Tapiolas, King Scrub, sold lines of 6-8 month old Droughtmaster weaner steers for $730 and $700 and vealer heifers for $530. Alberton Investments, Bald Hills, sold Droughtmaster vealer calves, with steers making $660 and heifers $510. A Watkins, Delaneys Creek, sold Euro cross weaner steers for $795.
Greg Nunn, Kilcoy, sold Brangus heifers for $655-$780. Birchley Family Trust, Hendra, sold lines of Charbray male calves for $310-$360. Darryl Duncan, Mt Mee, sold Blonde heifers for $795. Tudor Downs, Dayboro, sold a Droughtmaster bull for $1600. Robert Enchelmaier, Laceys Creek, sold Droughtmaster cows and calves for $1160-$1210 and yearling heifers for $780-$855. Jim and Kim Green, Linville, sold Droughtmaster cows for $900.
