Dancing the night away at Blackall

Blackall's 150th anniversary continues with gala ball

A period costume ball is the latest party at Blackall as the B150 celebrations draw to a close.

They’ve come from Fiji, Poland and all over Australia to remember their roots at Blackall for its 150th anniversary.

The central west town has seen plenty of balls, B and S’s and dance parties of some description over its 150 years, and over 200 people helped keep the dancing tradition alive on Friday night.

Fashion through the ages was the theme, which saw everything from retro to the Roaring 20s flapper styles to seventies pant suits and classic ball gowns on the dance floor for the evening.
