Charolais breeder, Valerie Bondfield of Palgrove near Dalveen has passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly. Mrs Bondfield died last Saturday aged 87 years.
Together with her late husband Peter, they founded the Palgrove Charolais stud.
Her son David, paid tribute to his late mother saying she was involved in every aspect of Palgrove, and was a great horsewoman.
“At all times our mother was very hands-on living on the land, while being very gracious and dignified at all times,” Mr Bondfield said.
She grew up at Bombala in the Monaro district and after marrying Peter they moved to Palgrove to manage it and later buy the property.
Mrs Bondfield is survived by her four children Robert, Helen, David and Charmian and her 10 grandchildren.
Her late husband Peter predeceased her in November 2013.
Mrs Bondfield’s funeral service will be at St Mark’s Anglican Church in Warwick on Monday, July 23 at 11.30am.
