There was a small reduction in numbers at Dalby this week, with 3934 cattle yarded. A fair panel of buyers were present, which included some interstate export processors.
Prices for medium and heavy weight yearling steers improved by 2c to 9c/kg and more on some well-bred lines.
Heavy weight yearling heifers also lifted in price by 7c. A better line-up of bullocks averaged 14c dearer at the time of this interim report.
Good heavy cows held close to the improved prices of the previous sale, while plain-condition lines averaged 3c to 7c dearer.
Heavy weight yearling steers to feeders sold from 258.2c to 284.2c, while medium weight yearling heifers made from 221.2c to 248.2c.
Grown steers in the 600-750kg range sold from 259.2c to 280.2c. Heavy weight grown heifers made to 235c. Medium weight cows sold from 149.2c to 193.2c, with heavy weights making to 211.2c. The best bull made 246.2c.
