Hundreds of doctors have converged on Brisbane for the Rural Doctors Association of Queensland Conference.
Over the next two days, rural generalists and students from across the state will have the opportunity to share stories as well as discuss issues including critical care, rural birthing facilities and the latest research papers.
The annual event commenced on Thursday afternoon with pre-conference workshops and student networking before the official welcome and keynote address from Dr Victoria Brazil.
Dr Brazil is Professor of Emergency Medicine and Director of Simulation at the Gold Coast Health Service, and at Bond University medical program.
She shared insights in tribalism, as well as the importance of cohesive teams, effective communication and critical care training.
