Number increased by 30 per cent at Dalby this week, with a yarding of 6276. Around half of the total numbers were drawn from the local areas while the remaining 3100 head were drawn from NSW and far western Queensland.
A full panel of export buyers was present and operating, plus some additional interstate exporters. Heavy weight steers to feed were firm to marginally dearer, while yearling heifers experienced very little change in price.
Heavy grown steers and bullocks sold to firm demand for quality penned. A very large yarding of cows improved in price with gains of 3c to 10c and up to 13c/kg on plain conditioned lines.
Lightweight yearling steers to feeders have made to 272.2c to average 262.74c. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed have made 231.2c firm.
Few grown cattle have been sold. Heavy weight grown steers to processors have made from 243.2c to 255.2c to average 247.3c. Medium weight grown heifers have made to 223.2c. Heavy weight cows have made from 202.2c to 218.2c to average 209.7c, up 3c. The best of the bulls has made to 248.2c for light weight types to feeders.
