There was a sharp decrease in numbers on AuctionsPlus this week, with 782 cattle offered.

Cattle numbers this week totalled 782 head which was a decrease of 931. Like sheep and lambs cattle clearance was strong at 77 per cent. Heifers made up the majority of the catalogue with 490 head and steers completed the catalogue with 292 head.

Heifer highlights include a line from K Brockhurst, Julia Creek, who offered a line of predominately Droughtmaster, Droughtmaster cross and Brahman heifers which sold for 210c/kg or $464. These heifers are aged 5 to 12 months and weigh 221kg. GJ & SL Manns, Charleville, offered a line of PTIC Simbrah cross heifers which sold for $765. These heifers are aged 15 to 18 months, weigh 339kg and have been PTIC to Simbrah bulls.

Doce Pty Ltd, Roma, offered a line of PTIC Shorthorn / Droughtmaster heifers which sold for $930. These heifers are aged 17 to 30 months, weigh an averaged of 388kg and are PTIC to Angus and Droughtmaster bulls. WK BA Colless, Talwood, offered a line of unweaned Angus and Angus cross heifers, aged 8 to 9 months and weigh 264kg which sold for 227c or $600.

Steer highlights included a line from Mt Mica Grazing, Clermont, who offered a line of crossbred steers aged 6 to 10 months and weighing 252kg. These steers sold for 300c or $755. From Yuleba, Pialaway Grazing Co offered a line of composite cross steers, aged 15 to 18 months, weighing 352kg which sold for 256c or $900.

South Vale Pastoral Co, Talwood, offered a line of Angus cross steers which sold for 304c or $770. These steers are aged 10 to 18 months and weigh 253kg. Also from Talwood, WK BA Colless offered a line of unweaned Angus and Angus cross steers, aged 8 to 9 months and weigh 264kg which sold for 267c or $705.

Sheep and lamb numbers totalled 2785 head which was an decrease of 1094 from last week. Despite the limited numbers clearance was strong at 80pc.

Cronulla Trust, Ilfracombe, listed a large line of 1615 woolgrower weather which sold for $83.50. These wethers are rising 3 year olds and weigh 49kg freshly shorn.

Dunblane Pastoral Holdings, Barcaldine, offered a line of Hazeldean and Billandri blood Merino ewes which sold for $79. These ewes are aged 23 to 26 months, weigh 35kg with a 1.5” skin and have been depastured to Merino rams.

Derwent Park Pastoral, Muckadilla, offered Roselea blood Merino ewes which sold for $82. These ewes are aged 5.5 to 6.5 years and weigh 56kg with a short ½” skin.
