There was plenty to celebrate around Centre Ring as stud cattle judging got underway.
Yenda V Duke, owned Scott and Vicki Hayes, Mundubbera, took out the top accolade in the largest breed to be judged on Tuesday, the Brahmans.
“We’re very excited, it’s a big win for us,” Vicki Hayes said.
Engaging consumers in the beef journey was also a talking point around the ring
Dalene Wray’s transition from the Birdsville Track to the big smoke earned her the 2018 Beef Achiever of the Year Award and she’s still beaming.
“OBE is a small company, we export boxed beef, yes all over the world, but a small amount compared to some of our peers,” Ms Wray said.
“We joined Twitter almost a decade ago now and we use Twitter and other platforms to tell our story.”
