Current and past parents, Old Boys, and many more enjoyed a night of top tucker, drinks and friendship during the St Brendan’s College Beef 2018 Cocktail Party held at The Edge Restaurant on the night of Monday, May 7.
The night provided many with a chance to catch up with old school mates from their SBC boarding days, with all in attendance having themselves a terrific night.
Entertainment for the party was provided by the talented SBC music students and staff, while the nights emcee Matt Cooper conducted a Q&A session with SBC Old Boys, Lawson Camm (1989), of Cambil Brahmans, Proserpine, and Paul Martin (1987), of Summer Land Camels, Australia’s largest camel dairy farm.
Soon after, the crowd was mesmerised by special guests Rob and Sarah Cook, with Rob, providing an insight into the challenges they’ve faced, and successes they’ve had running a successful breeding and fattening operation at Bucca, Qld, since a helicopter accident on September 30, 2008, left him quadriplegic.
The best selling author, Nuffield scholar, and Australian Farmer of the Year’s story was met with a rapturous round of applause by all.
Guests stayed on well into the night, forming many new friendships along the way, and strengthening old ones.
