Young and old. Some walked, some rode on horseback, some were assisted in wheelchairs.
Some wore medals of their own, others protected those of their father and brother.
But regardless of their backgrounds, hundreds of people surrounded the Roma cenotaph this morning with a common cause - to honour a brave sacrifice.
Following a dawn service where mounted horses stood guard, local residents and visitors lined the decorated bottle tree lined streets to welcome a parade through the town before another service was held.
