NEW England based Maria River Cattle Company (MRCC) is seeking a joint venture partner for its integrated Angus and Angus/Wagyu-cross production system.
The business has three operating hubs with six properties covering 9868 hectares (24,384 acres) of freehold land.
The St Helena hub is located east of Armidale, the Benditi hub near Yarrowitch (east of Walcha) and the Glen Eagle hub south of Walcha.
Breeding occurs on the St Helena and Benditi. After weaning, back grounding to sale weight occurs on the Benditi and the Glen Eagle.
The professionally managed business has been developed during the past 24 years with a focus on the production of high quality F1 Angus/Wagyu-cross cattle and purchases of cattle from breeders with whom long term relationships have been established.
MRCC is seeking a joint venture partner saying it has major opportunities for growth projected over the next five years with continued improvements to pasture and beef production systems.
The assets are described as being of a very high quality, with high performance improved pastures and good quality infrastructure.
A breeding and backgrounding model has been developed based around on-farm Angus cows joined to Wagyu bulls. Weaners also come back into the system from selected producers.
Predictable turn-off numbers meet the demands of live cattle exports into north Asian markets and grain fed, highly marbled beef for premium markets around the world.
