Some welcome weekend rain falls saw prices rise at Stariha Auctions Woodford cattle sale on Monday. The market was stronger for all types sold, with a full panel of buyers operating to higher rates.
Keith & Regina Schultz, Elimbah, sold a Brahman steer for $1720. Kay Wilson, Elimbah, sold Charbray cattle, 24 months, for $1375-$1390. Graham Sue, Mount Kilcoy, Droughtmaster cows and calves for $1620 and Charbray cows for $1350. Copleys Gully, Kilcoy, sold a line of Droughtmaster cows and calves for $1460. Bevin Peters, Kilcoy, sold Murray Grey cows and calves for $1380 and a bull for $1350. Alan Fredriksen, Kilcoy, sold Droughtmaster cows for $1210. Mona Daley, Maleny, sold a Droughtmaster bull for $1600 and a line of weaner heifers for $850.
Andrew Little, Stanmore, sold a Braford steer for $1560. Grantley Burchmann, Ropeley, sold a line of Droughtmaster heifers, 10 months for $960. FJ Hirn & Sons, Beerwah, sold South Devon yearlings, with steers making $985 and heifers $1040. C & E Domrow, Samford, sold 2 tooth Charolais heifers for $1155. Colin Hanson, Morayfield, sold Droughtmaster milk tooth steers for $1095 and 7-8 month old steers for $865. Daniel Richards, Kilcoy, sold 7 month old Simmental calves, with steers making $870 and heifers $800. Friedrich Family, Toogoolawah, sold Greyman steers, 10-12 months, for $950.
