A total yarding of 807 cattle at Elders Harristown Saleyards on Monday, Elders share 603 head. Export types were much dearer with cows showing the biggest increase, trade firm with restocker cattle in demand. Best bulls and a line of heavy cows from D&R Aquilini, Felton had a successful day topping both categories. An Angus bull reached 257.2c/kg to return $2507 while a line of 34 cows averaged 636kg average price 243.2c/kg average dollars $1557 with top pens of cows reaching 250.2c/kg, while a cow from Gary Potters, Aceland Poll Hereford stud sold for $2177. Heavy Brahman bullocks weighing 761kg from RG & MD Miller, Back Plains, sold for 302.2c/kg to return $2301. Boner Friesian steers a/c Kerry Dorries, Brymaroo sold for $2102. Heavy heifers from Francis Cooper, Biddeston weighing 555kg returned $1510. Cull dairy cows from Blanch Farming sold to 220.2c/kg. Best trade steers a/c Dowling Farming sold to 305.2c/kg. Vealer heifers to slaughter sold to 306.2c/kg with most selling around 290c/kg. Angus steers from Graham & Judy Fitch, Haden sold to 360.2c/kg also lightweight Angus steers returning to the paddock a/c Michelle Smith, Goombungee sold to 372.2c/kg to come back @ $874. Three pens of cows with CAF a/c Neville Reinke sold to $1530.
