No major export processors attended, but values remained strong. Three local processors were in attendance. Steers suitable for the local trade market fell 10c with numbers limited. Local trade heifers sold well to a top of 252.2c, up on the previous week.
Bullocks suitable for slaughter were again in short supply and sold to 197.2c. Heavy cows lost 20c on last week’s quotes to realise 201.2c. Bulls suitable for slaughter improved to achieve 270c. Young store bulls maintained value, with strong competition but quality types were in short supply.
Local trade cows remained firm, a reflection of the quality offered. Store steers gained ground on last week as did store heifers, again a reflection of the numbers and quality presented.
