THE Lines family’s 2170 square kilometre Central Australian property Coniston Station has sold on a walk in, walk out basis with 5200 cattle following a Landmark Harcourts auction.
Coniston was initially passed in for $12.5 million but sold after the auction for an undisclosed higher figure to a local producer. Eight parties had registered to bid at the auction, reflecting the ongoing demand for Northern Territory cattle properties.
The sale included 5200 Droughtmaster and Droughtmaster-cross cattle plus plant and equipment.
Marketing agent Andrew Stephens, Landmark Harcourts, said following a good summer Coniston had a great body of feed.
The 217,000 hectare (536,219 acre) property has 13 equipped bores and the 14 sets of cattle/ traps yards throughout the station makes it an attractive holding for the discerning buyers.
Located 285km north east of Alice Springs and 109km east of the Stuart Highway, Coniston has held by the Lines family for more than 35 years.
The marketing of Coniston was handled by Andrew Stephens and Simon McIntyre from Landmark Harcourts.
