RURAL CRIME: Police are investigating the wilful damage of a gate on a paddock at Longreach.
THE Longreach Major and Organised Crime Squad is appealing for public assistance as they investigate the wilful damage of a gate on a Longreach paddock earlier this month.
Between 4pm on June 2 and 10.30am on June 5, entry was gained to a Thomson River Road education facility by cutting through a mesh gate at the southern end of the property.
Initial investigations suggest that those responsible then traveled through the paddock before cutting a chain on a gate on the northern side of the paddock.
Police are encouraging anyone with information, or who saw or heard anything suspicious, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
