Hayes and Co had a top-quality yarding of 462 head of all local cattle at the bi-annual Boonah store cattle sale on June 10 selling to a very dear market to a full panel of local buyers and clean country buyers.

One clean country buyer in particular secured 105 head for different backgrounding feedlots in Roma, Dalby and Meandarra. All vendors were left overwhelmed with the high prices.
Highlights
John Gilchrist sold a line of Charbray steers to top the sale at $1640. Amros-Beare sold lines of two tooth and four tooth Santa bullocks averaging $1312 to top at $1350.
Kristy Lentini sold a line of euro steers making $1380.
Jilabri Family Trust sold lines of euro steers for $1290. Franks and Paterson sold lines of Brangus weaner steers still on the cow to average $1120 to top at $1200.
Keith Hilton sold Murray Grey cross steers to average $1032 to top $1070.
RPS – The Thompson family sold Santa cross steers for $1100. Luke and Anna Hass sold Charbray steers for $1100.
G and R Hinze of Allandale sold Limousin cross weaner steers to average $1016 to top $1120. Debra Geldard sold Charbray cross steers 16 months for $1420 and 6 months old weaners for $880. G&K Bond sold Brahman steers 6 months old steers for $940.
Mark J O’Dwyer sold top quality line of 24 steers straight off the cow to average $1020 to top at $1100. Gary Gillet sold line of Brangus steers for $1070.
Pat Ward sold Limousin cross weaner steers 6 months for $880. AC and GJ Gittins sold lines of Limousin steers for $960 and $800. Glenys Wieland of Allandale sold Charbray steers for $920.
A line of Droughtmaster weaner steers 5-7 months from Kilcoy averaged $832 to top at $910, $890 and $850.
The Auld Family topped the heifer sale with Droughtmaster heifers still on the cow making $1115. Hardale Pty Ltd sold Droughtmaster heifers to average $1043 to top at $1100. Serophene Christenson sold Santa heifers for $1090.
Gael Hinze sold Blonde d'Aquitaine weaner heifers for $950 to top at $1080. Franks and Paterson sold Brangus heifers straight off the cow to average $920 to top at $1040. Bowen and Kinsela sold lines of cross bred heifers for an average of $814 to top at $900.
Jilabri sold a black Limousin bull for $3,500. Grahman Wilson sold grey Brahman cows and calves for $1300. RPS sold Droughtmaster cross cows and calves for a top $1560.
The second Boonah store cattle sale will be held on Saturday, October 21 at noon.
