Animal Health Australia chair and former Cattle Council of Australia president, Peter Milne, has been named as a member(AM) in the general division of the Order of Australia.

Mr Milne was recognised for significant service to primary industry, particularly to the livestock sector to animal health and biosecurity programs.
He said in receiving such recognition was a nice surprise.
“It makes me appreciative of the the dedicated people I have worked with on these committees,” Mr Milne said.
Mr Milne has has held many senior elected positions in livestock and meat industry organisations at both state and national level over the past 24 years on biosecurity and food safety.
As well has being Animal Health Australia chair Mr Milne is a member Biosecurity Queensland Ministerial Advisory Council.
Previously he has been a former chairman NLIS (cattle) Advisory Committee, and director of NLIS Ltd, president of Cattle Council of Australia, chairman of Safe Food Production Queensland, director Food Standards Australia New Zealand, chairman NFF Quarantine and Animal Health Task Force, chairman of Red Meat Advisory Council and member Safemeat Partnership.
