The market remained very strong throughout, with heifers dearer at the Stariha Auctions Laidley sale on Thursday where 805 cattle were yarded.

Kim Francis, Blenheim, sold a Droughtmaster bull for $2000 and 6 month old steer calves for $795. Schultz Family, Laidley, sold Charolais cows to $1660 and 14 month old heifers for $1200. David Wilson, Carpendale, sold Charolais cows for $1390 and lines of 6 month old calves for $840 and $770. Marlene Christiansen, Thornton, sold 20 month old heifers for $1440 and cows and calves for $2000. Jayke Jackwitz, Lowood sold a line of Charolais cows and calves for $1880.
Geoff Cahill, Gatton, sold a line of 8-10 month old Charolais heifers for $1055 and males for $1110-$1195. Brian Pheeney, Ma Ma Creek, sold milk tooth Brahman steers for $1300 and cows to $1550. Natasha Schultz, Laidley, sold 18 month old Charolais steers for $1375.
Medina Pastoral, Mt Tarampa, sold grain assisted cattle, with 10-12 month old Santa steers making $1245, Santa heifers $1100 and Charolais heifers $1160. Geoff Dean, Mulgowie, sold a line of Brahman cows and calves for $1830. Pamela Lobwein, Purga, sold Droughtmaster light feeders, with steers making $1255 and heifers $1330. Ross Doolan, Blenheim, sold 12 month old Charbray steers for $1120.
Mark Curtin, Ma Ma Creek, sold a line of 8 month old Droughtmaster steers for $930. Bischoff Family Trust, Buaraba, sold lines of 7-8 month old Santa steers for $940, $850 and $840 and heifers for $780. Paul Bonnett, Marburg, sold 6 month old steers, with Charolais’ making $735 and Angus $800. John Curtin, Mt Whitestone, sold 8 month old steers for $900.

Monty Montgomery, Coominya, sold Droughtmaster heifers 8 months for $940. Calibre Grazing, Walloon, sold lines of 5 month old Limousin calves, with steers making $760 and heifers $700.
