Mr Stiller, who has been chairman of the committee for the last three years, made the announcement at the Annual General Meeting.
He said he had planned to announce that he would complete one more year in the role but after a presentation at the conference about managing stress by Rural Minds Program Manager Tim Saal he decided he couldn’t wait.
He said the voluntary role saw them stand up for people facing significant battles, usually regarding legislation, and it was stressful while trying to juggle a cattle, fodder crop and timber business.
“There is a lifespan that you can stay within a position in those circumstances,” he said.

“I need to pay attention to my business, to my property.
“The other thing is I’m in drought. It’s quite a nasty drought here at the moment.”
Current PRA treasurer and former chair Joanne Rea is currently filling the role until a replacement is elected.
Mr Stiller said the hardest part would be weaning himself off of the committee and issues which he was so passionate about.
