NEGOTIATIONS are continuing on the Dumaresq River property Bengalla Station, which was passed in at an Elders auction in Goondiwindi on Friday.
The 2519 hectare (6225 acre) property located 45km east of Goondiwindi was initially passed in as a whole on an auctioneer’s bid. The property was then put up as four separate parcels, with three blocks passed in to neighbouring interests.
Featuring improved pastures and irrigation, Bengalla is described as soft grazing country with a 7km of river frontage and extensive loamy river flats. About 600ha is farmed at present, with more available.
Infrastructure includes grain storage, homestead, quarters, a second home, sheds and cattle facilities.
Marketing agent Clayton Smith, Elders, said Bengalla Station had been transformed into a quality grazing holding with improved pastures and extensive modern structural improvements.
“The quality soft river country is currently exhibiting fence high grass and excellent improved sub-tropical grass pasture,” Mr Smith said. “The vendors have been running about 500 Angus breeders and growing the progeny to feedlot weight.”
