A high quality yarding of 911 head were sold at Stariha Auctions Laidley cattle sale last Thursday. The market remained strong for all types, with heifers selling to dearer rates.

Ian Lindemeyer, Mt Sylvia, sold 12 month old triplets, two steers and a heifer, for an impressive $1300 each. Col Duncan, Flagstone Creek, sold Charolais cows for $1380, heifers for $1400 and 8 month old weaners for $1025. Barbara Jensen, Lockyer Waters, sold Droughtmaster cows for $1300, cows and calves for $1600 and 18 month old steers for $1300. Jeff Gillam, Grandchester, sold Droughtmaster cows for $1500. Hansens Run, Left Hand Branch, sold Charbray heifers for $1345.

Mavis Burns, Atkinsons Dam, sold 24 month old Brahman steers for $1750. Country Wide Farms, Ebenezer, sold Limousin cross steers to a top of $1830 and lines of milk tooth steers for $1290 and heifers for $1180. Jeff Peake, Mt Berryman, sold 20 month old Charolais steers for $1550. Mt Whitestone Farms sold Droughtmaster steers, 18 months, for $1540. Carpendale P/L sold 20 month old Murray Grey steers for $1400. I & D Hannah, Laidley, sold 18 month old Droughtmaster cross steers for $1500.
Henry Dippel, Thornton, sold 10 month old Droughtmaster steers for $1085. Bischoff Family, Buaraba, sold lines of Santa weaners, 8-10 months, with steers making $1080 and heifers $950. Doug and Mary Staatz, Gatton, sold 9 month old Droughtmaster steers for an impressive $1115. Brendan Zabel, Lowood, sold a cow and calf for $1820. Jadlem Fields, Ropeley, sold lines of cows and calves, with Charbrays making $1540 and Brahmans $1560. Collins Grazing, Anduramba, sold lines of Brangus and Droughtmaster cows and calves for $1560.
