Riders head to Roma and Emerald Easter rodeos

There will be four rodeos in Queensland at Easter in the Australian Professional Rodeo Association.

Jared and Jay Borghero from Beaudesert have nominated for the Roma Xtreme Bulls event on Good Friday and then the Emerald Easter Sunflower Festival Rodeo on the Saturday.

The weekend of Bull Riding will finish with a full rodeo with all eight APRA  Championship Events at Roma on Easter Sunday.

Two of the rodeos in Queensland at Easter, Emerald and Roma, are full Championships Points rodeos with all eight events, the Roma Xtreme Bulls on Good Friday includes  two bull rides and the Destiny Downs Timed Events Fiesta Rodeo at Emerald on Good Friday will feature action in all timed events for men and women.

There are almost 800 nominations for the Easter Rodeos in Queensland.

Jared Borghero was the only rider to make time in the bull ride final at Mt Isa last year. He was equal sixth in round 1 at Mt Isa and won the aggregate with a two-round score of 161.

His brother Jay split second in round 1 at Mt Isa but bucked off in the final so ended up equal third in the aggregate at the richest rodeo in the APRA.

Jared currently leads APRA standings and Jay is 18th so needs some prizemoney at Easter to boost his chances of a top-15 finish and qualification for the National Finals Rodeo at Warwick on the last weekend in October this year.

The one New South Wales rodeo at Easter is the Deniliquin Under The Stars Rodeo on Easter Saturday.
